The JCB 531-70 IND telehandler is the smallest of our full-sized telescopic handler machines. It’s a hugely efficient EcoMAX-powered telehandler sitting on a chassis that’s designed for load-bearing and stability.
The side-mounted JCB engine combines with JCB axles and transmission to ensure a reliable drivetrain performance from well-proven telescopic loader components. For added versatility, high utilisation and extra investment value, we offer a large attachments range. This telescopic handler also has instant steering selection between three modes for easy operation, single-lever servo controls, a tight turn radius and great manoeuvrability.
Of course, being a JCB telehandler, residuals are strong – as the world’s number 1 telescopic handlers, our Industrial Loadalls are always in demand and therefore valuable.

Fluid filters (engine oil, hydraulic oil and fuel) are centrally located for fast, easy servicing. The air filter is easily accessible too, and its double-element design simplifies cleaning; yet another reason why JCB Construction telehandlers have best-in-class SAE serviceability ratings.
All daily checks and greasing on the JCB 531-70 industrial telehandler can be performed at ground level. It’s also easy to fill the diesel and AdBlue tanks from ground level, with both tanks equipped with pre-filters in the filler necks to guard against dirt and contaminants.
You can access the battery easily on this telescopic handler (and without specialist tools) via a lockable cover that’s opened with the ignition key.
A dry lubricant system means the JCB 531-70 industrial telehandler’s wear pads are extremely durable, with service intervals of 500 hours.
This telehandler doesn’t use DPF technology, so there’s no loss of productivity during the regeneration process, nor the extra expense of replacing a DPF.
To prove how good our EcoMAX engines are, we’ve tested them for 110,000 hours in 70 different machines across the toughest applications and environments.
JCB’s innovative Clean Burn technology helps DieselMAX run without the exhaust after-treatments like DPFs. Benefits include the fact that you don’t have to worry about costly time-consuming DPF regeneration and replacement.
By producing high levels of power and torque even at engine speeds as low as 1300rpm, DieselMAX can provide fuel-efficient matching of transmission and hydraulics.
JCB telescopic handlers enjoy proven demand supported by legendary productivity and build quality, ensuring high residuals the world over. DieselMAX can be adapted to run on lower-grade fuels, making Construction telehandlers easily resalable across different states and territories, boosting residuals further still.
A low boom profile and low boom pivot make for excellent rearward visibility on the JCB 531-70 industrial telehandler, likewise the full set of side and rear-view mirrors. Because DieselMAX doesn’t use a DPF, the bonnet line is lower, improving both visibility and manoeuvrability.
The package comprises a JCB LiveLink telematic GPS vehicle tracker.
The cab is Roll Over Protection System (ROPS) and Falling Objects Protection System (FOPS) certified, so operators are safe at all times.
To protect bystanders, a reverse alarm is standard-fit on the JCB 531-70 IND.
Hose burst check valves (HBCVs) are fitted as standard to the rams, preventing a collapse in the event of hose failure.
LiveLink tracking provides valuable real-time machine location data. Geofencing alerts help to ensure your machine is only used in specified areas.
The backlit switches on a JCB 531-70 industrial telehandler are crystal clear, even in the dark. And new instruments and a hi-res TFT screen form an intuitive automotive-style layout.
To create the perfect driving position, opt for the easily adjustable tilting telescopic steering column.
A 7-speed fan heater creates the most comfortable, productive operator environment on board this telescopic handler.
Visibility is excellent, courtesy of direct glazing, a large roof screen and standard-fit tinted cab glass.
Roof bars are strategically placed for maximum visibility when placing at height. Choose cab, front and rear lights for ultimate visibility.
There are new single lever controls fitted to our latest telescopic handler range, including the 531-70 IND. This innovation reduces operator fatigue by 8%, raising concentration levels and site safety.
Class-leading JCB hydraulics produce the fastest cycle times, ensuring the most efficient lifting, extending and pushing.
The JCB 531-70 industrial telehandler boasts excellent manoeuvrability and fast travel times across site, courtesy of a compact wheelbase and large steering lock angles.
With 4WD as standard, you get plenty of traction and performance even in soft, muddy areas. 2WD can be selected to minimise tyre wear and fuel use.
The JCB DieselMAX engine delivers 100hp (74kW) of power and 440Nm of torque. This is produced at just 1300 rpm, offering you optimum response, as well as improved cycle times and tractive effort.
JCB’s Smoothride System (SRS) improves load retention and increases operator comfort (and therefore productivity) when travelling at speed on the road or on uneven fields.
Multi-function single lever servo control provides fast and accurate load placement. Controlling your 531-70 telehandler’s direction is easy too, with just a flick of a switch.
