NINETEEN JCB’S AND COUNTING FOR MELBOURNE CONTRACTING COMPANY
Civil Force is an earth and civil contracting company that services Geelong and surrounding areas. According to Shane Norris, Managing Director for Civil Force, he made the switch to JCB when he purchased his first 3CX Backhoe in 2001. This has now expanded into a fleet of JCB wheel loaders, excavators and backhoes.
“I had owned a few other backhoes prior to 2001, but I prefer JCB backhoes” says Shane. “JCB’s construction machines are good value for money.”
He adds, “I like having a fleet of the same brand of equipment because I look professional to my customers.”
Shane is a well-respected customer of JCB. He was invited to the UK factory in 2013 to celebrate JCB’s millionth machine. Shane was also invited to meet Lord Bamford at the Grand Prix in Melbourne last year.
“I always get really good service from the JCB CEA team in Melbourne,” says Shane, “I like the consistency of JCB genuine parts across all JCB machines.”
Civil Force
Civil Force conducts detailed earthworks and underground work. The success of the business has been due to a strong commitment to quality and excellent customer service. 20 Tonne Excavator

426HT Wheel Loader
There are many reasons to choose the JCB 426 HT wheel loader. It’s productive, efficient, easy to maintain and extremely durable. Its 5.9 litre 6-cylinder Cummins engine is Stage 2 compliant and produces 112 kW and 633 Nm. Of course all JCB front-end loaders are designed to get the most from every drop of fuel. On the 426, there’s a load sensing hydraulic system with a variable displacement pump, and a variable speed cooling fan, all of which consume power only when required. There’s also premium componentry, like a Cummins Engine and an all-ZF driveline.
