COUNCIL DIGGING LATEST JCB BACKHOE LOADER

Wednesday, August 16, 2017

The powerful, easy-to-operate JCB 3CX T4i backhoe loader has proven a hit with operators at Toowoomba Regional Council, which recently added the new model to its upgraded fleet.

Toowoomba Regional Council has been using JCB machinery for nearly 30 years, and when the time came to upgrade their backhoe loader, plant operator Barry Jones says they knew the JCB 3CX T4i was the one to buy.

“Each time we need to upgrade a machine, the council provides us with demos from multiple brands. I find JCB machinery are a lot more stable and the controls are less complicated than most others on the market right now,” Barry says.

“The 3CX T4i now has more horsepower but the machine itself is a lot quieter. Currently we are using it to renew and upgrade the local water mains, sewers and storm water drains in Toowoomba, and it is proving more powerful, safe and comfortable for operators to use all day.”

The 3CX T4i boasts the new Auto Idle, Auto Throttle and Auto Drive (Automate) features as standard. These features allow operators to pre-set idle modes when switching between excavator and front loader operations, cutting fuel consumption, engine noise and emissions.

“The upgraded auto throttle and cruise control make operating the machine very easy. We can be in these machines for long periods of time, so other than efficiency and power, the main thing is that they are comfortable and easy to use, and this machine delivers on all of that,” Barry says.

“The staff at JCB CEA and our local JCB dealer Wideland Ag and Construction are great people and provide us not only with highly efficient machines but a service to match, too.”
